Window Server Administrator

• Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Windows Active Directory object maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks on Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, Domain Controllers, DNS, user authentication.
• Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot Active Directory and DNS for Active Directory, as well as skills necessary for Group Policy and Active Directory Security solutions.
• Working experience of operating-system administration skills of Windows Server
• Administration and troubleshooting of Windows Servers (Preferably Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012, Windows server 2016 to 2022
• Able to Install of windows servers and has good troubleshooting skills for Wintel systems, knowledge in hardening and securing of Wintel systems.
• Advanced level of Administration of Windows server with active directory, DNS, DHCP and High Availability.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain Active Directory DC design, Schema, OU design, AD replication topology, and DC backup/restore procedures.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery practices and procedures.
• Perform Active Directory Services administration and management to include design, cleanup and routine maintenance and configuration.
• Create and maintain AD environment management documentation on as as necessary basis
• Handle requests via thru Incident/Problem Management tool
• Experienced in troubleshooting and fixing issues. Knowledge in Software deployment and patch management procedures including server patching,
• Microsoft clustering and NLB setup Troubleshoot software and patches deployments. Test, troubleshoot, and debug deployment issues.
• Experience in Design, implementing and administering Microsoft Products, especially Active Directory, KMS, WSUS together with the common network services like DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.
• Experience in AD architecture and infrastructure
• Experience on Active directory Forest Implementation.
• Experience in AD Inter Forest Migration using Quest/ADMT tools, AD connect deployments, AD Upgradation projects.
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration, Active Directory administration and Azure AD administration
• Hands-on experience of GPO, AD Connect and AD replication.
• Good knowledge on Virtualization and OS Patching process
• Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
• Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
• Troubleshooting system and server errors.
• Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
• Managing user access.
• Monitoring system performance.
• Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups.
• Proven work experience as a Windows Administrator is preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
• Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.
• Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup
• Analysing Servers and virtual machine performance using Task manager, third party tools, perfmon, etc. - Hyper-v Host / Virtual Machine I/O and Performance fine tuning.
• Experience in Hyper-V host cluster and High availability with Hyper-V virtual machines and Hyper-V replica
• Good knowledge on SCCM work experience
• Patch Management using SCCM and WSUS
• Troubleshoot and fix and disruptions on the SCCM infrastructure and able to analyse and suggest/provide improvements.
• Participated in Migrations of SCCM Servers
• Maintain the health of the SCCM environment including clients, servers, and distribution points.

Responsibilities: Windows Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems. Manage and administer Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services. Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.

Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and implement on-premises server infrastructure solutions based on organizational needs.

Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate server solutions with overall IT architecture.

Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices for Windows Server environments.

Monitor and address vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Virtualization: Administer and optimize virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware). Manage virtual machines and ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for on-premises servers. Test and maintain disaster recovery plans.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor server performance and proactively address issues. Optimize server configurations for maximum efficiency.

Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address IT infrastructure needs.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Windows Server Administrator.

Strong expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2008, 2012, 2016, In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware). Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions. Solid understanding of network protocols and services. Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
