Overview The SCM Associate plays a critical role in the supply chain management process, ensuring that materials and products flow efficiently from suppliers to customers. This position is vital to maintaining the balance between inventory levels, customer service, and operational efficiency. The SCM Associate is primarily responsible for supporting the supply chain team by analyzing data, managing supply levels, and coordinating shipments. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. By optimizing supply chain processes, the SCM Associate helps reduce costs and improve service delivery, contributing to the overall success and competitiveness of the organization in the marketplace. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing supply chain strategies to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement and inventory management policies.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate suppliers and commodity trends.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on supply chain performance.
  • Support the team in contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Assist in the implementation of new supply chain software solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with logistics to optimize transportation costs.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to solve supply chain issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory management processes.
  • Assist in forecasting demand based on historical data.
  • Manage return processes for defective or surplus inventory.
  • Provide training and support to junior supply chain staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in supply chain or logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain software and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices and principles.
  • Experience in project management and collaborative planning.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with transportation and logistics management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and stakeholder management.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and technologies.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g. APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
