Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled IoT Engineer to design and implement IoT-based solutions
that interface with both mechanical systems and electrical control systems. The ideal
candidate will have expertise in embedded development, sensor integration, and IoT
communication protocols, and must be capable of understanding thermodynamic
equations as provided by mechanical engineers. In addition, the engineer must ensure
seamless communication between IoT devices and industrial systems such as SCADA,
DCS, and HMI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop IoT systems that interface with thermal, mechanical, and energy
systems.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to interpret and apply thermodynamic
equations, such as those related to heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and energy
conservation.
Translate physical models into data acquisition logic and embedded algorithms.
Integrate temperature, pressure, flow, and energy sensors with microcontrollers and
edge devices.
Develop firmware for embedded platforms (e.g., ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi) using
C/C++/Python.
Implement communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and
BLE.
Connect physical systems to cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, etc.) for realtime
monitoring and analytics.
Ensure accurate measurement, calibration, and validation of sensors used in thermal
systems.
Implement OTA updates, secure data transmission, and edge processing where
needed.
Document system architecture, assumptions (including thermodynamic calculations),
and test results.
IoT protocols implemented must be able to communicate to electrical systems such as
SCADA, DCS , HMI etc.
Design and implement data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze data from IoT
devices using cloud platforms and edge computing technologies.
Apply data science techniques, including statistical analysis and machine learning, to
extract insights from sensor data and improve system performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or
a closely related field.
2+ years of hands-on experience in IoT solution development.
Strong understanding of embedded systems and sensor integration.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply thermodynamic and energy equations.
Experience working with mechanical engineering teams or thermal systems (HVAC,
boilers, heat exchangers, etc.).
Proficiency in embedded programming (C/C++), Python, or similar.
Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, etc.) and cloud integration.
Experience with data science tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, Pandas, Scikitlearn,
TensorFlow).
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to thermal energy systems, HVAC, or industrial control systems.
Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Engineering Equation Solver (EES), or other
thermodynamics modelling tools.
Experience with edge computing or edge analytics.
Understanding of physical system modelling and digital twin principles.
Knowledge of calibration and error compensation in thermal sensor systems.
What We Offer
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT applications in mechanical and electrical
domains.
Collaborative environment with cross-disciplinary teams.
Professional growth through exposure to both hardware and applied physics.
