Role Summary

The In-Process Quality Technician is responsible for performing quality checks at critical stages of the battery pack assembly process. The role ensures that products meet defined standards before moving to the next operation. This technician works closely with production teams to detect, document, and address quality issues in real-time, supporting continuous improvement and defect prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visual and functional inspections at key process checkpoints (e.g., cell alignment, spot welding, insulation, torque settings, BMS installation).
  • Verify critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters using gauges, calipers, multimeters, and automated test equipment.
  • Perform in-line testing such as:
  • Voltage and resistance checks
  • Torque measurement
  • EOL (end-of-line) functional tests
  • Record inspection results and non-conformances in quality control logs or electronic systems (e.g., MES).
  • Work with operators and supervisors to contain and quarantine defective products.
  • Escalate issues promptly to Quality Engineers or Process Engineers.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in quality audits and line walk-throughs.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or internal quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality control or in-process inspection (preferably in electronics, automotive, or battery manufacturing).
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, measurement tools, and defect classification.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation, such as inspection checklists, NCRs, and SPC charts.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of ESD practices and cleanroom protocols is a plus.
