Role Overview

We are looking for a Visual Design Lead with 5–8 years of professional experience in storytelling-driven thumbnail creation and visual design. This role is perfect for someone who can blend creativity, design expertise, and a strong sense of storytelling to craft compelling thumbnails that spark curiosity, drive clicks, and enhance brand identity.

You will work closely with the content, marketing, and product teams to ensure visual assets are not just eye-catching but also aligned with Kuku FM's narrative and brand voice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design high-impact storytelling thumbnails that capture attention and improve user engagement.

  • Collaborate with the content and marketing teams to understand the story behind each piece and translate it into visual language.

  • Maintain a consistent visual identity across platforms while experimenting with creative approaches to stand out.

  • Create and manage visual assets for campaigns, app UI visuals, social media, and promotional creatives.

  • Use data insights (CTR, engagement) to refine design strategies for better performance.

  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the design team's creative culture.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in visual design, graphic design, or related roles.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing storytelling through visuals, especially in thumbnail design, digital campaigns, or branding projects.

  • Expertise in tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, Canva, or equivalent.

  • A sharp eye for typography, color, composition, and detail.

  • Strong understanding of digital-first design and trends in visual storytelling.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in motion graphics or video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro).

  • Familiarity with content-driven platforms (media, entertainment, or audio/video apps).

  • Understanding of how design impacts user psychology and click-through behavior.
