Role Overview

The Designer & Product Development Specialist will lead concept creation, material innovation, and design execution across multiple home and lifestyle categories. This role demands a strong understanding of international aesthetics, retail sensibilities, and technical feasibility—translating market trends into scalable, production-ready products.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with global buyers, internal merchandising teams, and vendor partners to deliver design excellence aligned with
US, UK, and European market expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Concept & Trend Development:
• Research global trends, materials, and finishes across home décor, textiles, hard goods, and furniture categories to create forward-looking seasonal collections.
• Product Design & Sampling:
• Develop design briefs, CADs, sketches, and prototypes; ensure product viability for manufacturing while maintaining design intent and cost efficiency.
• Buyer Collaboration:
• Partner with global clients to interpret mood boards, color stories, and briefs; translate creative direction into market-appropriate products.
• Vendor Coordination:
• Work closely with factories to develop prototypes, ensure accurate sampling, and optimize design-to-production timelines.
• Material & Technique Innovation:
• Explore sustainable materials, finishes, and production techniques suitable for international compliance and environmental standards.
• Cross-Category Development:
• Drive product innovation across soft goods (home textiles, cushions, rugs, table linens) and hard goods (furniture, lighting, metal, wood, ceramic, glass, and mixed media).
• Quality & Compliance:
• Collaborate with QA and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to buyer standards, safety norms, and sustainability protocols.
• Presentation & Documentation:
• Create professional buyer decks, concept boards, and presentations for trade shows and buyer reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's / Master's Degree in
  Product Design, Textile Design, or Industrial Design
  from a reputed institute.
• 5–10 years
  of experience in design and product development for
  global home and lifestyle markets.
• Proven exposure to
  US, UK, or European retail standards
  and product compliance.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, ergonomics, and packaging.
• Proficiency in
  Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, 3D modeling tools, and MS Office.
• Excellent visual presentation and communication skills.
• Strong vendor management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
