About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in automation, special purpose machines (SPM), and product development. This role requires a professional who can conceptualize, design, and implement innovative mechanical solutions while applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Maintenance Ease principles to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation systems, special purpose machines (SPM), and pick-and-place equipment.
  • Create 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and BOMs using leading CAD tools.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Incorporate DFM, DFA, and Maintenance Ease principles in all design processes.
  • Ensure designs are robust, optimized for performance, and cost-effective.
  • Work extensively with sheet metal, machining, and fabrication processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and assembly teams during prototyping and machine building.
  • Participate in design reviews, prototyping, testing, and validation cycles.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation and adhere to project schedules and timelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Design Engineering.
  • Experience: 4 – 7 years in mechanical design, preferably in automation and machine building.
  • Strong expertise in automation design, sheet metal, machining, and fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools: SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in machine building, R&D, and prototyping.
  • Proven ability to design with DFM, DFA, and Maintenance Ease principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within deadlines.
