About the Role

At Tensrai Technologies, we're building the next generation of agentic industrial mobile robots that move, perceive, and act intelligently across factories and warehouses.

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you'll help bring these robots to life — developing the firmware, control systems, and hardware interfaces that make our robots move with precision and reliability.

You'll work closely with our robotics and mechanical teams to design, integrate, and optimize embedded systems for our flagship robot, Shift Heavy, and future humanoid platforms.

Key Responsibilities


• Design and develop embedded control systems for mobile robots and peripheral modules


• Integrate motors, sensors, actuators, and power systems for reliable robot operation


• Develop and implement control algorithms for drive, steering, and safety systems


• Design and test custom PCBs and embedded firmware for real-time applications


• Implement and debug communication protocols such as CAN, UART, RS-485, and Ethernet


• Collaborate with the software team to create hardware abstraction layers and ROS2 drivers


• Participate in system testing, calibration, and debugging of control and sensor interfaces


• Contribute to rapid prototyping of new control architectures and embedded designs


• Work with the mechanical team to adapt external tools or attachments for robotic use

Qualifications & Skills


• Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering


• Good understanding of embedded system fundamentals (interrupts, PWM, memory management)


• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems


• Familiarity with RTOS concepts and microcontroller architectures (STM32, ESP32, etc.)


• Working knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet)


• Understanding of control theory and its application to robotic actuation


• Experience with hardware testing, debugging, and firmware optimization


• Exposure to ROS2 integration, motor control, or sensor interfacing is a plus


• Strong problem-solving attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup
