Assistant/Associate Professor – Agriculture (Animal Science)

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Animal Science / Animal Husbandry / Livestock Production Management from a recognized university.
  • Ph.D. in Animal Science or related specialization preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching, research, or relevant industry experience in the field of Animal Science.
  • Strong academic record; publications in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates should meet UGC/ICAR norms as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Agriculture with a focus on Animal Science, Livestock Management, and Animal Nutrition.
  • Develop, update, and deliver curriculum related to Animal Science, Dairy Production, and Veterinary Management.
  • Guide students in academic projects, research, and internships related to Animal Husbandry and Livestock Management.
  • Engage in independent and collaborative research; publish in reputed journals and conferences.
  • Conduct practical sessions on animal breeding, nutrition, and health management.
  • Mentor students for academic and professional growth in livestock and animal husbandry sectors.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and expert lectures on modern animal science practices and technologies.
  • Participate in departmental and university-level committees and academic initiatives.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • Expertise in Animal Science, Livestock Production Management, Animal Nutrition, and Breeding Techniques.
  • Practical knowledge of animal health care, dairy farming, poultry production, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern trends in animal biotechnology and sustainable livestock practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and software tools relevant to animal science research.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate on research and consultancy projects related to animal husbandry and livestock development.

Pay Scale

₹30,000 – ₹70,000 per month (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
