Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on global data privacy regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and other international data protection laws.
  • Lead and execute comprehensive data privacy and cybersecurity risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and formulating actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, IT, Risk, Operations) to ensure enterprise-wide compliance with applicable data protection and cybersecurity regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving global privacy laws and regulatory guidance; translate these into policy and operational requirements for the organization.
  • Design, implement, and manage cybersecurity controls, policies, and procedures to protect sensitive personal and business-critical data.
  • Develop and deliver awareness programs and training to promote a privacy-by-design culture across the organization.
  • Provide guidance during security incidents or data breaches, including impact assessments, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and client due diligence requests related to data privacy and cybersecurity.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 6 to 12 years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or related domains (consulting or advisory background preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, cyber law, and data protection frameworks, as well as cybersecurity best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and deliver effective risk mitigation plans.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with tools and technologies related to data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other privacy-enhancing technologies.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent.
