Role Overview – Video Editor / Creator
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented
Video Creator
to join our content team. You will be responsible for curating, editing, and aligning high-quality video content that complements narrative material and adheres to brand/client guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Media Selection and Implementation
- Source and curate high-quality video/image assets from media partners and free usage catalogs.
- Prioritize use of video over static images, ideally in a 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Ensure media is up-to-date (preferably within the past 72 hours to 1 month).
- Conduct thorough searches using internal and partner media platforms.
- Properly attribute all media assets to maintain licensing compliance.
Content Quality Management
- Match visual media with narrative context (e.g., accurate player/team footage in sports content).
- Avoid use of generic, irrelevant, or misleading media.
- Implement creative alternatives when exact footage is unavailable.
- Maintain consistency with brand/client messaging.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- 1–6 years of experience in video production, digital content creation, or media curation.
- Strong visual storytelling instincts and narrative alignment.
- Proficiency with stock media platforms and licensing guidelines.
- Excellent research skills and high attention to detail.
- Understanding of different video formats, especially aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16).
- Ability to manage time efficiently and maintain quality under deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Background in journalism, media studies, or creative storytelling.
- Familiarity with media asset management systems.
- Understanding of branding guidelines in multimedia content.
- Knowledge of media licensing and copyright attribution.
- Experience with internal media management tools (optional but a plus).
