The Opportunity
The Engineering Operations Manager shall work support the engineering deliveries in Tenders and Projects across all engaged engineering disciplines. This includes securing established processes, tools and solutions are in place to manage the cross functional operations of engineering to efficiently manage and control the engineering deliveries and design. The Engineering Operations Manager shall ensure cross functional Operational Improvement Projects are being initiated and executed to continuously improve the management of Engineering functions. This involves how to enable more efficient engineering progress reporting as well as quality assurance improvement to the processes for Power Quality and the engineering solutions
How You'll Make An Impact
- Resource planning allocation based on the forecast of tenders & projects in collaboration with global organization.
- Ensure KPI of the department (e.g. on time delivery, FPY, productivity) & ensure achieving financial budget & review and approve techno-economic offering by your line in a tender/project, assess risk and opportunity.
- In cooperation with Operations and Planning to continuously improve the engineering scheduling, reporting and progress monitoring.
- Direct manager of the Project Manager Engineering (PME) and coach and support the PME to successfully manage the engineering team in the tenders and projects.
- Recruitment of people as per the Capacity work force planning. Accountable for the team as per Hitachi Energy Group compliance, Integrity, Health & Safety.
- Responsible for personnel assessments / people's review, target setting for the direct reports. Identify people's development area(s) and implement actions accordingly.
- Identify key competence area and have succession planning. Retention of key people. Support the Engineering Manager in establishing Engineering Strategies and road maps for the Engineering Team.
- Workout future scope expansion and competence development. Drive operation development for the local organization.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in electrical preferred. Previous experience of Line Manager/Team Leader for 3-5 years with a team size of at least 25+.
- Exposure to project management preferred. Multidisciplinary engineering knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge in Experience in FACTS / HVDC /Substations. Strong communication and collaboration skills required.
- Good intercultural sensitivity with strong leadership skills.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
