Position overview: We are looking for a talented Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI and AWS to join our team supporting a leading Japanese retail client in the beauty industry. The project focuses on designing, developing, and deploying modern backend services and integrations to support and extend the capabilities of the client's core e-commerce ecosystem. You will work within a distributed team of about 10 people located in India and Eastern Europe, contributing to scalable, maintainable, and effective cloud-native software solutions.

  • Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
  • Architect and implement solutions on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and other developers across India and Eastern Europe.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems, with a focus on enterprise platforms like NetSuite.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work alongside project managers and business analysts to understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Establish and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

  • Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years focused on backend Python development and building cloud-native applications.
  • Strong professional experience with Python in backend development for production environments.
  • Proven, hands-on experience building and deploying production applications with FastAPI.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, ECS).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, RESTful API design, databases (SQL/noSQL), and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity working with distributed, multicultural teams across multiple time zones.
  • Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.

  • Comfortable working in Agile environments with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.

  • Nice to have: Direct experience with NetSuite integration (e.g., using SuiteTalk SOAP/REST APIs, ODBC).

  • Experience in the e-commerce or retail industry.
  • Experience working with Japanese clients or familiarity with Japanese business practices.
