CONTROLLERS
Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.

Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm's counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm's success. BUSINESS UNIT
The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analyses of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products, and sophisticated technology systems in depth. Direct Hedge Funds, Hedge Funds Strategies, Private Equity Group teams within Controllers support the alternative investments within Goldman Sachs Asset Management division with oversight over complex private funds.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSBILITIES


• Safeguard the reputation of the firm by controlling and supporting the trading divisions, as well as ensuring that they are in compliance with the firm's policies and

• Understand fund structure under the GSAM business including Hedge funds, Mutual funds, Private Equity funds

• Review financial statements as per the US GAAP requirements for GSAM funds (as applicable)

• Application of regulatory reporting instructions including funds, portfolio, notionals for derivatives and perform related activities

• Identify and analyse best practices supporting broad regulatory reform (including Dodd Frank Act), functional accountabilities and enabling technologies

• Handle regulatory reporting requirements to SEC, Federal Reserve, CFTC, UK FCA (AIFMD) etc.

• Handle reporting requirements to Senior Management

• Work closely with other divisions, including: Fund accounting, Valuation Oversight Team, Product Services, Operations, IT and Trading Divisions

• Work closely with fund administrators and auditors

BASIC QUALIFICATION


• Qualified CA, CPA, CFA or MBA with adequate experience in financial services sector

• Work Experience: 3 years' (post qualification)

• Basic knowledge of financial statements preparation & review; USGAAP, IFRS knowledge and experience in co-ordinating with Big 4 accounting firms during audit cycle is desirable.

• Experience of working on a SEC registered company/hedge fund is desirable

• Basic industry knowledge and strong accounting knowledge. Accounting knowledge of financial products like Interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, currency options etc is a definite plus.

• Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

• Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work in a team environment

• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize

• Excellent interpersonal, client relationship and communication (written and verbal) skills

• Self starter, inquisitive, enthusiastic with a strong analytical mind-set

• MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel) required
