As an SSD validation engineer for VSAN/SDDC Certification at Micron Technology, Inc., your responsibilities will include:

Perform all required preparation, test, and submission in support of Micron SSD certification with VMWare (Broadcom). 

Generalized Requirements: 

5+ years in Storage certification would be a strong plus.
Ability to work with Datacenter Compute and Storage solutions like Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere/VSAN is a strong plus
ESXi OS installation and setup.
VMWare certification policies and procedures. 
Test setup, test execution, test setup and log submission. 

Technical Ownership 

•Reviews and optimizes current test plans, coverage, and testing activities to drive both increased effectiveness and efficiencies across the product portfolio. 

•Recommend and instrument new validation approaches that drive better coverage, more accurate testing, and expanded testing services. 
 
Requirements Analysis 

• Maintain knowledge of product functionality and associated industry certifications.

• Identification of suitable testing equipment. 

• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates. 
 
Validation Strategy 

• Understand current test cases to verify functional. 

• Working with CVE and product design to enhance test cases, driving coherent development with  

Test Execution 

• Supplying and Pre-formatting of SSD and server samples for validation. 

• Execution of Product Validation flow to match programmed validation plan. 

• Monitoring of testing, triage of any infrastructure or test issues. 

• Results analysis. 

• Report Generation - Report data in a clear format including concise comments about findings. 

• Track document revision to provide historical reference. 
Defect Management 

• Root-cause and drive failures coming from upstream/downstream validation teams, customers and other partners to closure, while also articulating the associated risk. 

• Implement systematic clear steps to reproduce failures while providing traceability to the bugs/gaps/escapes. 

• Collaborate with partner teams to assess test results and achieve SSD certification.
