Job Overview:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for creating a secure, reliable, and high-performance intranet network. This role involves end-to-end setup, including hardware installation, software configuration, and security protocols, ensuring smooth communication and data sharing among employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze the office's networking needs to propose a suitable intranet setup.
  • Design and implement a scalable and efficient office intranet.
  • Configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Ensure secure connectivity and manage network access controls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network performance and connectivity issues.
  • Establish backup and recovery protocols for network systems.
  • Document network configurations and provide end-user training as necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT support and vendors for ongoing network maintenance and upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing office networks for small to medium-sized organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Proficiency in network security protocols and best practices.
  • Familiarity with network management tools and monitoring software.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with VoIP systems and video conferencing setups.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
