Role Description Position Overview

The Senior IT Business Systems Analyst (Sr. BSA) will play a pivotal role in translating program goals and business needs into functional and technical requirements for the Data Warehouse Application. The Sr. BSA will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within UCLA Health, partner organizations, and vendor teams to deliver an intuitive, scalable, and compliant platform that supports the PMHPs mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define business needs, strategic drivers, and functional requirements.
• Facilitate storyboarding workshops and convert visual concepts into actionable design artifacts.
• Conduct business process analysis, documenting current and future-state workflows.
• Define and manage business, data, and system requirements (use cases, data flows, mappings).
• Plan and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) develop scripts, coordinate testing, and report progress/outcomes.
• Mentor teams on UX best practices and support the creation of engaging dashboards and prototypes.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Technical Lead, Developers, and QA to ensure timely MVP delivery.
• Lead stakeholders through the full business analysis lifecycle.
• Support deployment and user training activities, ensuring smooth adoption and change management.
• Participate in vendor evaluations and solution roadmap discussions.

Technical Skills Additional Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to business stakeholders.
• Facilitate interviews and workshops to elicit requirements and align objectives.
• Contribute to the development of Organizational Change Management (OCM) deliverables.
• Provide oversight and mentorship to junior analysts and consultant resources.
• Maintain ongoing communication with management and project sponsors on progress, risks, and decisions.

Nice-to-have skills Qualifications Qualifications & Experience

• 10 years of experience in business analysis and IT systems delivery.
• Proven ability to work in Agile project environments with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Experience in Pharma/Life Sciences industry preferred including familiarity with business processes (e.g., HIPPA, patient support).
• Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Skilled in requirements analysis, UAT planning, and UX collaboration.
• Project planning and documentation expertise.
