Qualifications - BSC, IT or MCA

Location - Mumbai

Preferred candidate should be from the Banking Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the Bank's goals,

emphasizing automation and digitalization.

· Lead the Bank's IT Transformation via implementation and deployment of the new 'CBS Solution', adhering to agreed cost and timelines

· Optimize the current IT network while evaluating new solutions to ensure efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

· Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions across various banking functions to

improve operational efficiency.

· Evaluate emerging technologies for cost efficiency and assess their applicability to the Bank's

business model, ensuring that investments in IT deliver a strong return on investment.

· Oversee the Bank's IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

· Drive the Bank's digital transformation initiatives, including the development of digital channels,

mobile banking, and online services.

· Implement robust data analytics and management practices to derive insights for better decision-

making.

· Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity framework to protect customer data and the Bank's

digital assets.

· Collaborate with external technology vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources.

· Utilize industry networks and relationships with technology vendors to negotiate favorable terms

and access resources that benefit the Bank's IT initiatives.

· Stay informed about changing regulatory requirements specific to the banking industry, ensuring

that IT systems and processes remain compliant and secure.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or MCA
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in a senior technology leadership role within the banking or
  • financial industry.
  • Extensive experience in successfully implementing automation and digitization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent execution and problem-solving abilities.

Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional

teams.

1. Strategic Role

Develop and implement the bank's overall IT strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Drive digital transformation initiatives including core banking system (CBS), mobile banking, internet banking, UPI, and digital payments.

Ensure IT roadmap supports future growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency


2. Governance, Risk & Compliance

Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, IT Act 2000, Cyber Security Framework for Banks, Data Protection, and Cooperative Banking Regulations.

Oversee cybersecurity policies, IT audits, ISMS (Information Security Management System), and periodic system vulnerability assessments.

Establish disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP), test them regularly, and report compliance to RBI and management.

Liaison with regulators (RBI, NABARD, State Registrar of Cooperative Societies) on IT-related submissions and inspections.


3. Infrastructure & Operations

Oversee management of Core Banking System (CBS), ATM Switch, POS, RTGS/NEFT, IMPS, UPI, and other payment systems.

Ensure 24x7 uptime of critical banking applications and networks.

Supervise IT infrastructure including data center, servers, cloud services, branch connectivity (MPLS/leased line/VPN), and end-user systems.

Manage vendor relationships (CBS provider, IT hardware suppliers, payment gateway providers, cybersecurity partners).


4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

Implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-malware, endpoint protection, SOC (Security Operations Center) monitoring.

Ensure data encryption, secure authentication, and role-based access control.

Conduct regular cybersecurity drills, phishing awareness campaigns, and employee IT training.


5. Digital Banking & Innovation

Lead initiatives for mobile banking apps, digital wallets, UPI, payment services.

Drive customer adoption of digital channels with a focus on financial inclusion.

Explore and implement emerging technologies – blockchain-based secure transactions (where feasible).


6. People & Process Management

Lead IT department staff including system administrators, database managers, network engineers, cybersecurity officers, and support teams.

Establish IT governance policies, SOPs, and SLAs for service delivery.

Train bank employees on IT security awareness, CBS usage, digital banking tools.

Drive a culture of agility, accountability, and proactive problem-solving within the IT team.


7. Reporting & MIS

Provide periodic IT performance reports, cybersecurity status, downtime analysis, and digital adoption metrics to the Board/Management.

Present IT budgets, cost-benefit analysis, and return on technology investments.

Monitor and report on fraud detection systems, transaction monitoring, and compliance dashboards.


8. Key Deliverables

100% CBS uptime and branch IT integration.

Compliance with RBI Cyber Security Framework for Urban Cooperative Banks .

Strengthening of Disaster Recovery (DR) site and Business Continuity within stipulated timelines.
