Job Title: MongoDB Database Specialist

 

Role Overview:

  • An experienced and skilled MongoDB professional is sought after to lead database administration efforts, with a strong background in database architecture, data replication, transaction consistency, user access management, and security audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust database architectures to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Manage and maintain production databases, ensuring seamless integration with other RDBMS/non-RDBMS databases from Aurora.
  • Administer database upgrades, migrations, and integrations, while ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement data replication strategies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Serve as a technical leader, providing guidance and support to application teams on database operations, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements, ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest MongoDB features, best practices, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of MongoDB, including its architecture, data models, and query optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of database administration, including data replication, transaction consistency, and user access management.
  • Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and integrations, including Aurora.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with experience in developing scalable and efficient database applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, with experience in designing and deploying cloud-native database solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with relevant work experience in MongoDB administration or development.
