Internal Accountant

Nature of role: Remote/ Consultant

The Internal Accountant will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring internal controls are followed, managing the billing and invoicing processes, and providing tax-saving advice. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, auditing experience, and expertise in managing billing, invoicing, and tax planning functions to help optimize the companys financial position and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Invoicing:

• Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for services provided.
• Track and follow up on outstanding invoices, ensuring payments are received within the agreed terms.
• Resolve billing discrepancies or disputes with customers in a professional and efficient manner.
• Ensure billing records are properly maintained and updated for audit purposes.
• Coordinate with different departments with regards to billing and invoicing.
• Coordinate and communicate with external auditors/ accountants with respect to accounting queries and related tasks.

Reconciliations:

• Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and other financial records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Compliance & Regulation:

• Stay updated on accounting and financial regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of external audits, ensuring all documents and records are accurate and complete.
• Managing tasks related to ESI, EPF, TDS and GST calculations and filing.

Tax-Saving Advice & Planning:

• Provide tax-saving advice to the business, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Collaborate with tax advisors and consultants to optimize tax strategies and implement tax-saving initiatives.
• Prepare tax filings, returns, and documentation for relevant taxes, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure the companys strategies are up to date and fully compliant.
• Advise on the tax implications of financial transactions, investments, and business decisions.

Accounting Software & Systems:

• Maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring all financial data is entered accurately and efficiently.
• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Ad-hoc Financial Analysis:

• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to management as needed.
• Assist in special projects as required by the finance team.

Skills:

• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Zoho, SAP, or Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, internal controls, and tax laws.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.
• Solid understanding of billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to identify tax-saving opportunities and implement strategies effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to billing, invoicing, tax planning, or accounts receivable functions.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access and navigate the clinical office and websites of the company.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
