Position Overview

The Resident Software Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, system monitoring, and first-level (L1) administration at the customer's location. This role involves ensuring smooth operations of servers and applications, proactive performance monitoring, and close coordination with the HPE support team for issue resolution and firmware management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform
    L1 administration tasks
    for servers, applications, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor application and server health
    continuously to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Identify and resolve alerts
    generated by monitoring tools for both application and server environments.
  • Troubleshoot application server–related issues
    and escalate or raise support tickets with HPE as required.
  • Coordinate with vendor teams (HPE and others)
    for advanced technical support and issue resolution.
  • Execute assigned operational and maintenance tasks
    within the agreed
    Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    .
  • Participate in infrastructure and application-related projects
    , upgrades, and improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist in firmware upgrades
    of servers and other hardware components in collaboration with HPE teams.
  • Proactively monitor system performance
    , identify potential bottlenecks, and take corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain
    status reports, incident logs, and performance summaries
    for periodic review.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    2–4 years of experience in server/application administration or a similar technical support role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of
    Windows/Linux server administration
    .
  • Familiarity with
    HPE server infrastructure and management tools
    (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of
    networking and system monitoring tools
    .
  • Experience with
    incident and ticketing systems
    (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
  • Soft Skills:
    Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    HPE ASE/ATP certifications, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent.
