Role & responsibilities

  • Biopolymer processing via compounding & cast film, and blown film for flexible packaging.
  • Conduct trials to optimize process parameters, material formulations, and tooling designs for improved product quality and performance, i.e., high barrier properties, high strength etc.
  • Engage in product scaling up from lab scale to pilot plant, and from pilot plant to plant level.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction through innovation and research in polymer extrusion technologies.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, industry/academic trends, and competitive developments in polymer processing to drive innovation and differentiation.
  • Maintain accurate records in physical as well as electronic form, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Should be ready to travel to factories in so as to enable technology transfer.
  • Remain EHS compliant.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification : PhD in Material Science/ Polymer / Plastic

Work Experieince :

  • Experienced in Polymer processes such as melt mixing, compounding, formulations, polymer modifications and polymer testing.
  • Be able to conduct technical trials, analysis & interpretation of data.
  • Be able to develop testing protocols, write ups and filing records as per ISO standard
  • Systematic method of working and up-keep of laboratory.
  • Attitude to create and challenge scientific hypotheses.
  • Adequate knowledge on usage of IT and statistical tools

• Experience in polymer processing and recipe development.

  • Knowledge on polymer processing and compounding.
  • Scientific approach towards target.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
