Role & responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize OT and equipment usage: manage OT availability and scheduling for the center and assign them based on defined procedures. Track and optimize OT utilization through proper scheduling. Ensure proper use and storage of all OT equipment by doctors and nurses, and safely transport equipment from one clinical area to another. Track and maintain all AMC/ CMC schedules for equipment
  • Ensure the biomedical and service condition of all infrastructure: conduct regular checks of OT tables, monitors, ventilators, air conditioning systems, lighting, etc to ensure their working. Escalate any incidences of malfunctioning or damage and coordinate with the relevant department to ensure their proper working, prior to any procedure
  • Ensure drugs and consumables inventory: check the inventory of drugs and consumables used in the OT and ensure sufficient stock for procedures. Place all drugs and consumables that are needed by the patient in the medicine trolley prior to a procedure. Dispose all near-expiry drugs and consumables in a timely manner
  • Assist the anesthesiologist and/or surgeon: move the patient to the operation table along with the nurse and anesthetist and position them according to the instructions given. Prepare all drugs for extubation according to clinical guidelines and instructions from the anesthetist while performing patient procedures. Connect all suction tubes and equipment and adjust lights for the procedure to begin
  • Adhere to infection control protocols: ensure that infection control protocols are followed by all clinicians and staff inside the OT. Ensure disposal of biomedical waste as per clinical guidelines
  • Ensure safe patient transportation and handling: coordinate the movement of patients from the ward to the OT and back, ensuring their comfort and safety. Ensure adherence to the pre-OT wheeling in checklists, completion of patient consent forms and checking of other patient reports prior to the procedure

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduation/Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician course.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in IVF OT
  • Trained to assist in Lapro hysteroscopie
