Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled API Tester with hands-on experience in validating APIs and SQL testing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Postman, Jira, Swagger, and MSSQL, along with the ability to design and execute test cases to ensure API functionality, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :-

1. API Testing & Validation

  • Design, execute, and maintain test cases for REST APIs using Postman.
  • Validate API requests and responses against requirements defined in Swagger.
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for APIs.
  • Ensure APIs meet performance, reliability, and security standards.

2. SQL Testing & Database Validation

  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and accuracy in MSSQL databases.
  • Verify backend data consistency with API responses.
  • Conduct database testing, including stored procedures, triggers, and complex queries.

3. Test Planning & Documentation

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements.
  • Document detailed test cases, test plans, and defect reports.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using Jira, ensuring timely resolution.

4. Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback on testability.
  • Identify automation opportunities and contribute to process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational QA best practices and standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, Swagger).
  • Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience in MSSQL.
  • Familiarity with defect management tools like Jira.
  • Good understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • ISTQB/QA certification (preferred but not mandatory).
