Job Description - Grade Specific
Seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer with expertise in CATIA and computer-aided engineering (CAE) to support the design and development of mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing, ensuring high-quality and manufacturable designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop mechanical designs that meet functional and performance requirements.
- Support CAE analysis by preparing geometry and integrating simulation feedback into design iterations.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, GD&T, and manufacturing constraints.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Maintain accurate documentation and version control using PLM systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and familiarity with CAE tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with PLM systems (e.g., ENOVIA, Teamcenter) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, or machined part design.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
