Biomedical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Maintain and repair dialysis machines, R O plant, and other biomedical (therapeutic / diagnostics) equipment used in the dialysis center.

2. Attends breakdown calls from the dialysis center.

3. Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedule for a dialysis machine, RO Plant, and any other biomedical equipment used in the dialysis center.

4. Prepare requirement of space for repair and maintenance of equipment under the guidance of Chief BME.

5. Install and facilitate the installation of biomedical equipment.

6. Prepare and generate appropriate service reports after service, repair, and preventive maintenance activity.

7. Maintain machine downtime records in AXISEMR software for dialysis centers across the state.

8. Conduct training sessions for dialysis staff for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

9. Guide dialysis staff to troubleshoot issues with the dialysis machine, R O, or and any other biomedical equipment used in the dialysis center.

10. Perform calibration of equipment under the guidance of the Chief BME or Service personnel of the manufacturer.

11. Repair components of the Dialysis machine, R O, and any other biomedical equipment used in the dialysis center wherever possible.

12. Directs operation of biomedical equipment by providing demonstrations, supplying information and data, instructing others in the care and use of equipment, and answering all questions.

13. Prepares reports by analyzing, collecting, and recapping trends and information.

14. Updates job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, taking advantage of educational opportunities and maintaining professional networks

15. Maintains a healthy and safe working environment by fulfilling and recommending procedures, performing safety tests, complying with codes, and guiding and training health care and medical personnel.
