Job Title:
Lead Pre-Sales Engineer

Role Overview:
The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for converting sales-qualified leads (SQLs) into onboarded business by providing tailored solutions, designing functional and technical specifications, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. The role involves extensive customer engagement, industry-specific playbook development, and a deep understanding of CPaaS solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry-Specific Strategy & Documentation:
- Develop industry-specific playbooks, use cases, and case studies.
 - Scope customer requirements to create functional, non-functional, and technical specifications.
 - Document platform changes and project manage solution delivery.
 
SQL Conversion & Business Onboarding:
- Follow up with leads provided by the company through impactful pre-sales engagements.
 - Conduct compelling product demonstrations and articulate value propositions.
 - Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to close deals effectively.
 - Ensure smooth customer onboarding and stabilization post-sale.
 
Solution Design & Customer Engagement:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Phonon's platform.
 - Understand customer challenges and design functional solutions within product capabilities.
 - Define BoQ, set up pricing, and negotiate commercial terms for deal closures.
 - Manage project execution, ensuring customer expectations are met.
 
Required Skills & Expertise:
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the CPaaS sector, including robocalls, SMS, WhatsApp, emails, and cloud contact centers.
 - Exposure to cloud and NLP technologies: AWS Business Practitioner, Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (SSML), Speech-to-Text, NLP.
 - Proficiency in Google Sheets, including Google Script automation.
 
Sales & Solutioning Skills:
- Business value proposition, project management, and client success strategies.
 - In depth knowledge of BFSI collections, commercial aviation, SMS, cloud telephony, Meta, and TrueCaller sales.
 - Experience in Collections Management Processes and Digital Debt Recovery is a plus.
 
Soft Skills:
- Strong revenue and numbers-driven approach.
 - Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
 - High aptitude and a proactive attitude.
 
Sectoral Knowledge:
- Indepth knowledge and understanding of TCCCPR, 2018, DPDP Act, DoT Licensing Requirements.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
- 12+ years of total experience, preferably in the CPaaS segment.
 - Engineering background with a track record in pre-sales or solution engineering.
 - Prior experience in BFSI collections, commercial aviation, or digital communication platforms (SMS, cloud telephony, WhatsApp, Meta, TrueCaller) is highly desirable.
