About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

to lead the technology function of our
automotive content and classifieds platform

. As CTO, you will be responsible for shaping the product roadmap, owning the technical architecture, and driving innovation in how users discover, compare, and engage with car listings, reviews, tools, and automotive content.

You will work closely with product, editorial, marketing, and monetization teams to build a scalable platform that serves millions of users and supports both content consumption and commercial intent — including SEO, programmatic ad monetization, lead generation, and affiliate integrations.

Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Platform Ownership

• Define and implement the long-term technology roadmap across web and mobile platforms
• Build scalable, high-performance infrastructure optimized for both content discovery (SEO) and consumer interaction (search, filters, comparisons)
• Oversee the development of tools such as EMI calculators, resale price estimators, model comparison engines, and review systems
• Ensure platform scalability, speed, security, and uptime, especially under traffic spikes driven by organic and seasonal campaigns

Search, SEO, and Data Architecture

• Own and enhance the technical SEO stack — structured data/schema, URL logic, Core Web Vitals, crawl budget, sitemap generation, canonicalization, etc.
• Architect backend systems for storing and rendering thousands of car models, variants, prices, specs, reviews, and user-generated content
• Build a data pipeline to continuously update listings, specs, news articles, and comparisons

Monetization & Publisher Tech

• Integrate and optimize
  programmatic monetization

(Google Ad Manager, header bidding, , Open Bidding, etc.)
- Collaborate with media and sales teams to support branded content, display campaigns, and affiliate tracking
- Develop and implement tracking systems (UTMs, pixels, cookie consent) that support analytics and commercial deals

Leadership & Execution

• Hire and lead an agile, high-performing tech team across frontend, backend, and devops
• Define agile sprint cycles, engineering KPIs, and code quality standards
• Foster a strong culture of testing, version control, documentation, and cross-team collaboration
• Stay updated with emerging tech trends in adtech, martech, and content publishing

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in technology roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership position (CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent)
• Deep experience building and scaling
  content-heavy platforms

, preferably in publishing, media, or marketplace domains
- Expertise in full-stack development , Python, PHP, or similar frameworks)
- Experience with modern CMS (WordPress, Strapi, or headless CMS architecture)
- Strong understanding of
SEO-first architecture

, including Google PageSpeed, lazy loading, structured data, and mobile-first indexing
- Hands-on experience with ad monetization (AdX, AdSense, Prebid, etc.) and tracking frameworks
- Ability to interface with founders, marketing, and commercial teams in a startup environment
