Job Profile: Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management in decision-making by providing financial insights. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work with financial software and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts including ledgers, journals, and vouchers.
  • Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) and timely filing of returns.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Monitor financial transactions and ensure accuracy in entries.
  • Maintain and update financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to management for strategic planning.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho Books, etc.).
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle confidential information responsibly.

Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com/CA Inter preferred).
  • Professional certifications (CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) are an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1–5 years of relevant accounting experience (varies based on role level).
