We need a Safety Officer for our Textiles manufacturing company

Position: Safety Officer- Male

Qualification: Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering (mechanical, industrial, etc.) or a related field is typically required.

Experience: 5- 8 years

Salary: 30, ,000/- (Based on Experience)

Languages known: Tamil, English, Hindi(Optional)

Job Description:

  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to machinery, chemicals, electrical systems, and work processes.
  • Create, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to the textile environment, including emergency plans.
  • Ensure the facility complies with all local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO standards).
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for all employees, including new hires and contract workers, on topics like fire safety, hazard communication, and PPE use.
  • Incident investigation: Investigate all workplace accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and verify that all tools, machinery, and equipment are in good working order and have necessary safety guards.
  • Emergency preparedness: Develop and manage emergency response plans, including evacuation drills, and ensure appropriate safety equipment like fire extinguishers are maintained.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Act as a point of contact for all safety-related matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external bodies as needed.
