What makes the role meaty?

  • Product Development & Innovation
    :- Lead end-to-end product development from concept to launch, including prototyping, sensory evaluation, shelf-life validation, and scale-up. Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams to translate consumer insights into differentiated, on-trend products for the D2C market. Renovate existing product lines to improve taste, texture, nutrition, shelf-life, or cost efficiency.
  • Ingredient & Process Expertise :-
    Apply deep knowledge of functional ingredients (proteins, hydrocolloids, stabilisers. fats/oils, spices, flavours) to deliver optimal product performance. Evaluate and recommend processing technologies (vacuum pack, pasteurization, retort, blast freezing, IQF, hot-fill, MAP, etc.) suited for product formats like ready to cook, ready-to-eat, or shelf-stable foods. Partner with suppliers for ingredient trials, new technology assessment, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Culinary & Sensory Excellence :-
    Collaborate with chefs, culinary experts, and internal panels to balance culinary authenticity with processing practicality. Conduct sensory evaluations and build structured product feedback for continuous improvement. Stay updated on global savoury and protein trends, adapting them for Indian consumers.
  • Compliance & Quality :-
    Ensure adherence to FSSAI and global food safety standards across formulations, labelling, and claims. Support documentation for product registration, nutritional data, and regulatory audits.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration :-
    Partner with marketing, brand, and sales teams to bring innovation stories to life for consumers. Work with manufacturing partners/CMOs to troubleshoot and optimise plant trials and scale-up.

We hope that you have..

  • Graduation in B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or related disciplines
  • 3–5 years of experience in R&D/Product Development within processed or packaged foods, FMCG, B2B ingredients, QSR, D2C, or related environments. Experience with meat-processed products is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on formulation expertise with functional ingredients - proteins, hydrocolloids, stabilizers, fats/oils, seasonings &flavors.
  • Good understanding of processing technologies (chilled, frozen, retort, shelf-stable) and packaging (MAP, vacuum, retort pouches, etc.).
  • Proven ability to balance culinary sensibilities with technical/industrial feasibility.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (FSSAI, HACCP, GMP).
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Passion for innovation, consumer experience, and scaling D2C brands.
