Job Title: Light and Heavy Vehicle Driver
Department: Transport / Administration
Reporting To: Transport In-charge / Administrative Officer
Job Summary:
Responsible for safely operating light and heavy vehicles of the institution for the transportation of staff, students, materials, and official goods. The driver should ensure timely service, proper vehicle maintenance, and adherence to all traffic and institutional regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned vehicles (light or heavy) safely and responsibly as per institutional requirements.
- Transport staff, students, materials, and documents to designated locations as instructed.
- Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before use (check fuel, oil, water, lights, brakes, tires, etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, both interior and exterior, at all times.
- Keep accurate records of daily travel, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance.
- Ensure all necessary vehicle documents (license, insurance, road tax, emission certificate, etc.) are valid and updated.
- Report any mechanical problems or damages immediately to the Transport In-charge.
- Follow all traffic laws, institutional safety policies, and assigned routes.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods or materials when required.
- Be punctual, courteous, and maintain a professional attitude at all times.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs or coordinate with the maintenance team for servicing.
- Support during emergency transportation requirements or institutional events.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum qualification: SSLC / 10th Standard pass.
- Valid Light and Heavy Vehicle Driving License (LMV & HMV).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in driving institutional or commercial vehicles.
- Good knowledge of traffic rules and road safety procedures.
- Ability to maintain vehicle logs and basic records.
- Punctual, responsible, and disciplined behavior.
- Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
Work Conditions:
- Working hours as per institutional schedule; flexibility required for early morning, late evening, or weekend duties.
- May be required to travel between campuses or on outstation trips.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20, ₹25,000.00 per month
