Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities
MaxLinear is looking for a software developer to join our journey in building next generation broadband products. Seeking applications from curious engineers who are passionate about building great technology products. You will focus on:

• Build next generation broadband access and home networking products
• Participate in full development life cycle including pre-silicon development phase
• Architect and design system software for Stability, performance, and scaling
• Contribute to the development and testing of both high-level and low-level components of the software stack

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of WLAN protocols
• Expertise in Embedded Linux software and C/C++
• Experience with kernel-level WLAN driver development
• Familiarity with open source hostapd and supplicant
• Plus: Knowledge of 802.11be, RF, and exposure to WiFi certification programs (e.g. Wi-Fi 7,Wi-Fi 6, MBO, 11ax, 6E) is beneficial
• Ability to Analyze kernel crash dumps, memory corruption & call traces to resolve issues in the system
• 6-10 years' work experience in a related field
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• As a Staff Engineer, in addition to being an individual contributor, one is expected to mentor junior team members and take ownership of key modules
• BS/BTech/BE/MTech in Computer Science/Electronics
• Knowledge of open-source community software like OpenWRT/PRPL/RDK-B
