Job Purpose

The purpose of the Staff Software Engineer role is to lead the architectural design, development, and optimization of advanced, scalable HR Service Delivery and Management (HRSM) solutions using ServiceNow, Kafka, and MongoDB. This role drives technical innovation by spearheading the creation of robust HR workflows, real-time integrations, and data-driven platforms to enhance employee experiences and streamline enterprise HR operations. By leveraging deep expertise in ServiceNow HRSM, event-driven architectures, and NoSQL databases, the Staff Software Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors junior developers, and ensures secure, high-performance HR systems that align with strategic business objectives in fast-paced, technology-centric industries.

Key Accountabilities for Staff Software Engineer (ServiceNow HRSM, Kafka, MongoDB)

Architect Scalable HR Solutions

• Lead the design and development of highly scalable HR Service Delivery and Management (HRSM) applications on ServiceNow, including Service Catalogs, Record Producers, Portals, Workflows, and Orchestration.
• Develop Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to meet HR requirements.
• Own the design and implementation of specific HR modules/features in product-based or R&D environments.

Spearhead System Integrations

• Design uni- and bidirectional integrations using SOAP/REST web services, Mid Servers, and Apache Kafka to connect ServiceNow HRSM with external systems.
• Implement secure user authentication, authorization, and Single Sign-On (SSO) processes.
• Utilize Kafka for streaming HR events in real time.

Manage Data Storage

• Store and manage HR data, supporting JSON-based data models for ServiceNow applications.
• Ensure data aligns with accessibility and security compliance requirements.

Enhance HR Features and Analytics

• Implement ServiceNow features like Agent Workspace, Manager's Hub, Advanced Work Assignment, and Virtual Agent to improve HR service delivery.
• Integrate Performance Analytics and AI/ML to enhance user experience and HR insights.
• Develop HR portals for employee self-service.

Prototype Technical Solutions

• Prototype solutions using JavaScript, Angular JS, XML, CSS, HTML, Jelly Scripting, and JSON to address HR use cases.
• Adapt to emerging technologies and incorporate them into development processes.

Lead Agile Development

• Drive Agile/Scrum processes using JIRA to manage development tasks and deliverables.
• Collaborate with teams using strong communication and interpersonal skills to align solutions with business needs.
• Work independently and as a team player to deliver HR solutions.

Ensure System Performance and Compliance

• Ensure HR applications meet scalability, performance, accessibility, and security compliance standards.
• Optimize ServiceNow, Kafka, and MongoDB integrations for reliability.

Provide Technical Leadership

• Guide architectural decisions for HR platforms using ServiceNow HRSM, Kafka, and MongoDB.
• Mentor team members in development best practices and integration techniques.

Skills & Knowledge

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Computer Science.
• 8+ years designing/developing scalable applications in product-based/R&D settings with UI expertise for
  product-based companies.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Proficient in JavaScript, Kafka, XML, CSS, HTML, Angular JS, Jelly Scripting, JSON, SOAP/REST and proficiency with NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on ServiceNow HRSM experience: Service Catalogs, Record Producers, Portals, Workflows, Orchestration.
• Skilled in ServiceNow development: Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes, ACLs, Roles.
• Experience with SOAP/REST integrations and Mid Servers.
• Ownership of module/feature design and development.
• Prototyping skills and adaptability to new technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and Agile (JIRA) experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
