  • Excellent understanding of materials and manufacturing process.
  • Experience in utilizing Solid works, Pro E, FEA simulations, Kiss Soft, Kiss Sys, Pro mechanical, AnSys etc.
  • Working experience pertaining to AGMA and API, AGMA, DIN, RINA, ASME standards.
  • Ability to define FEA inputs and correlate the results and incorporate changes in the design.
  • Good Communication skill
  • Should be able to drive the design team to deliver as per organization's expectations
  • Ability to understand critical functional relationship and maintain healthy interpersonal relations with peer and seniors
  • Experience in designing Industrial / Marine gearboxes
  • Should be able to extract information from supporting functions

Main responsibility

  • Analyze existing design and improve by optimization
  • Bench marking our products against best in class
  • Design of High speed, slow speed, planetary Gear Boxes for Industrial / Marine applications. Should have excellent understanding of design calculations for large Helical, Bevel, Planetary gearboxes etc.
  • Actively participate in technology absorption and indigenize manufacturing drawings
  • Development & Prototyping. New technology and new product introduction and their life cycles management
  • Development of new gearboxes meant for other applications
  • Gear / Bearing / Seal / Oil selection to meet durability and efficiency target Technical discussion with customers and help sales in conversion of orders
  • Application engineering support to sales
  • Ensure transmission integration with prime movers and driven equipment
