Position Title: Lead – Process & Mechanical

Level: Senior Management

Reporting To: Lead – Detailed Engineering

Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to build the requisite engineering capabilities which will provide the adequate technical, design, architectural, construction expertise to guide and support project execution and scale up teams.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Create and propose design plans/blue prints proposed by mechanical teams
• To take value engineering initiatives to reduce project cost and innovative construction methodologies to improve productivity

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures in quality testing, placing orders for equipment outsourcing, change in design, etc.
• Ensure that all drawings, technical specifications, floor plans meet statutory regulations and various government compliance requirements.
• Highlight risks in execution – both technical as well as engineering capacity/ capability related and provide support in quantification of impact.
• Coordinate to obtain additional design support from external experts/design consultants
• Preparation of Technical comparison of all process equipment for all projects and submission of the same to procurement team for commercial evaluation providing necessary technical support during vendor finalization.
• Ensure strong Engineering processes such as Document Control, Document Management, Document Archiving.
• Ensure engineering controls (such as inter disciplinary checks) are enforced.
• Participate in review meeting for pre-execution activities along with master planning managers, contract and procurement head and engineering team.
• Collaborate strongly with project execution group and detail engineering group to provide timely support and ensure adherence to project schedule.
• Participate in Project review meetings to resolve engineering issues.
• Benchmark best practices/tools for engineering and design processes.
• Review/ follow up on Engineering Calendar for all projects/bids.
• Develop KPIs to measure the performance of team to ensure high productivity among subordinates.
• Ensure adherence to the budget.
• Support HAZOP by studying process safety data and converting into interlocks and trips in the proposed design

Education Qualification

B.Tech/M.Tech – Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering from Institutes of repute like IIT/NIT

Work Experience

• 10-15 years of engineering experience
• Good understanding of process safety
