Senior Manager, Data Science

Position Summary...Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. About the Team

The Centroid team is the backbone of Walmart's end-to-end supply chain strategy. We design and implement long-term strategies powered by advanced data analytics and data science, ensuring Walmart continues to deliver world-class customer service while scaling to meet future demand at low and efficient costs. By leveraging sophisticated data analysis, predictive modeling, and a Digital Twin Simulation platform, we test and validate future strategies before implementation, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions that strengthen Walmart's supply chain resilience and flexibility.

What You'll do -

· Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 data scientists, driving innovation and building digital twin simulation capabilities to model and optimize supply chain performance.

· Deliver advanced analytics and AI/machine learning solutions that balance customer satisfaction, operational cost, and long-term asset efficiency.

· Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to shape strategy, translate challenges into scalable data science solutions, and influence decision-making.

· Build and scale models, simulations, and analytics pipelines that inform policy, process design, and strategic initiatives.

· Communicate insights through compelling narratives and visuals that resonate with both technical and executive audiences.

What You'll bring -

· Proven experience leading high-performing data science or analytics teams (3–5 associates).

· Deep expertise in advanced analytics, AI/machine learning, and simulation modeling.

· Strong proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and cloud data platforms (BigQuery, GCP, Azure).

· Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing (Spark, Hadoop) and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker).

· Ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision, driving measurable business outcomes.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a track record of influencing senior leadership.
