Required Quantity Surveyor & Quality Check Engineer (High-Rise Commercial Projects)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor & Quality Check Engineer to join our civil engineering team for high-rise commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, cost control, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a critical role in ensuring project cost efficiency and construction quality as per standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

A) Quantity Surveying:

  • Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ), estimates, and tender documents.
  • Conduct cost planning and commercial management throughout the project.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure all costs are within the allocated budget.
  • Track material usage and wastage, ensuring optimal resource management.
  • Prepare and analyze comparative statements for vendor quotations.
  • Conduct rate analysis for civil items.
  • Process interim payment certificates (IPC) and final bills of contractors and vendors.
  • Manage change orders and variations, ensuring cost impact is assessed and reported.
  • Assist in contract negotiation and procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers.

B) Quality Control & Assurance:

  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with IS codes, project specifications, and drawings.
  • Conduct routine inspections of construction works to identify non-conformities.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams and site engineers to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Maintain records of test results, quality reports, inspection checklists, and site observations.
  • Ensure material testing, including concrete, steel, soil, etc., is conducted as per project requirements.
  • Liaise with consultants, architects, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
  • Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and material approvals.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying practices and construction cost management.
  • Expertise in QA/QC processes, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Familiarity with IS codes, NBC, CPWD, or relevant quality standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, ERP (SAP, Primavera or similar), and QS software.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities across various stakeholders.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
  • Certification in Quantity Surveying or QA/QC (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 58 years of relevant experience in civil commercial high-rise building projects.
  • Experience with luxury commercial, IT parks, office towers is preferred.
