Role Overview We are looking for a Release Manager to join our Hyderabad office. This role will be responsible for managing all production releases across our enterprise platform and solutions. The Release Manager will ensure releases are delivered with quality, predictability, and efficiency while collaborating with engineering, QA, product, and client support teams. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational excellence and enhancing the experience for our carrier partners and their policyholders.
Key Responsibilities Own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for all production deployments. Define, document, and enforce release management processes and standards. Create and maintain the release calendar, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams. Collaborate with engineering, QA, product management, and client support teams to ensure releases are on time, stable, and properly communicated. Conduct release readiness reviews and facilitate go/no-go decisions. Identify, document, and mitigate risks associated with production releases. Monitor and track release performance, driving continuous improvement in processes. Act as the point of contact for release-related escalations, ensuring smooth deployment and minimal disruption. Provide release documentation for audit, compliance, and historical tracking purposes.
Required Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of overall technical experience, ideally in software engineering, operations, or related fields. 5+ years of direct release management experience in a complex, enterprise software environment. Deep understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), CI/CD practices, deployment patterns, and release orchestration. Demonstrated experience in cloud-native environments, microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration. Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of Java / JVM ecosystems, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent), and distributed system design. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.), and version control systems (Git). Strong proficiency in observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (ELK stack, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.). Familiarity with both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and performance tuning. Proven ability to manage risk, troubleshoot production issues, and drive root-cause analysis. Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills, and ability to drive alignment among technical and non-technical teams. Ability to operate under pressure, handle multiple concurrent release efforts, and enforce discipline in fast-paced environments.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience in the insurance or financial services domain (or other regulated industries). Knowledge of security, compliance, or audit processes as they relate to release operations. Experience integrating feature flag frameworks, canary/blue-green deployments, or dark launches. Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and deployment strategies. Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles and practices such as SLIs/SLOs.
