The Commodity Manager will be responsible for leading sourcing activities for casting and machining category while working collaboratively with Category Leaders and other sourcing specialists.
This position is located in Bangalore, India.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Development
· Develop comprehensive category-specific short-term & long-term strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
· Develop and implement sustainable supplier strategies that align with business needs via evaluating the current supplier landscape, capacity, capability, and competitiveness.
· Develop & implement category-specific cost models and cost-driver visibility.
· Conduct supplier, commodity, and procurement market risks on an ongoing basis and develop risk-mitigation plans.
- Supplier Management
· Manage supplier performance by engaging with cross-functional business partners to drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.
· Conduct supplier, commodity, and procurement market risks on an ongoing basis and develop risk-mitigation plans.
- Cost Management & Competitiveness
· Lead global cost reduction initiatives and conduct regular cost benchmarking to ensure market/cost competitiveness.
· Develop and implement annual cost reduction initiatives.
· Drive supplier consolidation to reduce supply chain complexity.
Compliance and Governance
· Ensure full compliance to governance and best practices as it relates to sourcing, supplier selection, cost evaluation, cost change approvals, and supplier selection processes.
- New Product Development Support
· As a core team member across value streams, participate in new product development initiatives by evaluating new suppliers and their capabilities for go-to-market strategies.
- Operational Support
· Understand plant operations and provide critical supply solutions as needed.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• College Diploma in Supply Chain Management is considered an asset.
• Supply Chain Management Certification (SCMP), Institute for Supply Management (ISM) certification, or Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) certification considered a strong asset.
• 10-12 years of experience in procurement and category in industrial/manufacturing sectors.
• Minimum three years of experience in global sourcing and category management.
Technical Skills
• Hands-on experience developing and implementing best practices specific to cost management, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
• Strong understanding and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically in industrial manufacturing settings.
• Sound knowledge and experience in working with system-based categorization and producing procurement-specific reports.
• Direct experience with high-impact casting commodity, deep understanding of raw metal alloys, subtractive manufacturing, castings, forgings, stampings, etc. is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in multi-site settings, including an international supply chain environment.
• Exceptional data analytic capabilities.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
