About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join the Kilmore District Hospital team at Northern Health.
The Grade 2 physiotherapist will have a leading role in ensuring excellence and quality care for residents at the Caladenia Nursing Home and Dianella Hostel based at Kilmore District Hospital Campus.
The role includes the organisation, implementation, development and supervision of physiotherapy care and the promotion of best practice at Caladenia Nursing Home and Dianella Hostel.
The physiotherapist will be responsible for assessment of new residents, development of care plans, updating mobility assessments and reviewing residents as required (e.g. post falls).
The clinical caseload will vary depending on residents. Cover and support to Kilmore acute and GEM wards may also be required at times.
This position provides the opportunity to drive quality improvement to ensure we are meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards.
This role will be supported by the senior clinician physiotherapists. At times this role may be required to assist in the supervision of physiotherapy undergraduate students.
This opportunity will suit an experienced physiotherapist with sound clinical skills in the area of aged care, gerontology or general physiotherapy.
This role is a permanent, part time hours per fortnight) position.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A background which includes significiant experience resulting in a high level of clinical skills in aged care, gerontology or general physiotherapy
- Experience managing residents in aged care facilities or patients in ward based setting
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills including being able to consult and collaborate with other health professionals to provide integrated care
- Well developed organisational and time management skills
- Skills in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Able to work in an interdisciplinary team
