Key Role: Literacy Facilitator

This critical position plays a vital role in enhancing literacy skills and promoting reading habits among teachers, librarians, and principals. The successful candidate will work closely with the Literacy Program Officer/Associate to support educational development projects.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Program Understanding: Gain a comprehensive understanding of Room to Read's Literacy program design, including EGL principles and relevant literature/research.
  • School Visits: Conduct regular school visits to observe, demonstrate, and coach Grade 1 and 2 teachers in delivering the instructional component of the Literacy Program.
  • Training, Workshop, and Meeting: Participate and facilitate in regular teacher and librarian trainings related to the Literacy program.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in education or social sciences is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 23 years of relevant experience in development projects, preferably in education, is required.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of education, language, and reading practices; excellent written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills and a team player are must-haves.
