HIH – Infrastructure Engineering Advisor
In this role, you will create and execute a roadmap to scale and strengthen operational readiness across the entire Technology organization, integrate into existing process, provide leadership risk visibility, and evolve teams across Cigna into a Site Reliability Engineering culture.
This enterprise role will establish channels for collaboration with Ops Readiness stakeholders within the Enterprise including, but not limited to: Operations Leadership, Application Delivery Teams, Operations Teams, Monitoring, SRE, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Agile Leadership, etc. You will interface with and influence Enterprise ITSM practices such as Event Management, Incident Management, Release Management, Risk Mitigation, Problem Management, Change Management, Config Management and Escalation Procedures, ensuring harmonization with Ops Readiness Best Practices and overall effectiveness of these practices.

This is a hands-on position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth℠ management who are motivated to see the successful results of our efforts. The solution focuses on enabling this change using the latest technologies and development technique.
This role provides counsel and advice to management on significant Infrastructure matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Serves as the lead technical consultant responsible for capacity planning of information technology solutions. Leads the analysis and implementation of engineering infrastructure solutions of projects and/or work requests for complex business solutions.
Other key responsibilities include:

• Provides counsel and advice to management on significant delivery matters, often requiring coordination between organizations

• Influence matrix teams across the organization and present data to leadership to drive focus on modern and resilient system design

• Stay up to date on Site Reliability Engineering best practices and train the organization on ways to improve availability

• Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

• Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and assigning tasks, team building, maintain working relationships

• Organizes and guides project operations through new standards

• Keeps informed of technical managerial advances in IT

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information System Management, Informatics or similar combination of education and experience

Experience:

•10-13 years of experience

•Proven ability to analyze data, troubleshoot problems, provide recommendations and follow up on their implementation

• Experience with matrix teams

• Experience with monitoring/observability tools Dynatrace and Splunk

• Experience with Configuration Management (CMDB) and Change Management

• Proven experience with ServiceNow data model, reporting advanced queries, and workflows
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated capabilities in teamwork and leadership, including the desire and eagerness to mentor and assist in the professional development of junior staff

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.

• Ability to evaluate team processes; recommend, coordinate proposals and required actions

• Proven ability to analyze data, troubleshoot problems, provide recommendations and follow up on implementation

Skills:

•Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Word)

•Solid knowledge of ITIL principles

•Ability to provide metrics tracking operational performance and quality of services

•Ability to present ideas and data to an executive audience

•Ability to evaluate team processes; recommend, coordinate proposals and then needed actions

•Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering and Resilient System design

•Background in Lean/Six Sigma is a plus

•Strong understanding of end-to-end application design, middleware, infrastructure components, and cloud technologies

•Strong interest in professional self and teammates through professional organizations, coursework, certifications, conference attendance, etc.

•Background in Lean/Six Sigma

•Data visualization
