Minimum 2+ years of hands-on estimating and takeoff experience for U.S. construction projects

We are hiring an experienced Construction Estimator & Quantity Takeoff Specialist with proven exposure to U.S. construction drawings, specifications, and standards. This role covers full-scope estimating across all major trades, not limited to architectural finishes.

This is a contract-to-hire position. Work will begin on a per-project basis, and long-term collaboration will be offered to candidates who consistently demonstrate accuracy, clarity, and on-time delivery.

Note: This role requires independent execution. No training will be provided.

Role & responsibilities

Full Scope of Work (All Trades)

The estimator will be responsible for preparing complete and trade-wise quantity takeoffs, including but not limited to:

Architectural & Finishes

  • Flooring (tile, carpet, LVT, wood, concrete finishes)
  • Drywall & partitions
  • Insulation
  • Paint
  • Ceilings (ACT, GWB ceilings, specialty ceilings)

Structural

  • Concrete (footings, slabs, columns, beams)
  • Rebar & accessories
  • Formwork

Civil / Site (as applicable)

  • Earthwork & excavation
  • Backfill & grading
  • Site concrete

MEP (Quantity Takeoff Only)

  • Mechanical: basic duct, equipment, insulation quantities
  • Electrical: lighting, devices, conduit, panels (count-based)
  • Plumbing: fixtures, piping (count and linear takeoffs)

General Requirements

  • Material lists with correct UOM
  • Clear inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions
  • Organized Excel deliverables aligned with U.S. estimating standards
  • Revisions based on review comments, within agreed scope

Software & Tools

Experience with all of the following is required:

  • Bluebeam Revu
  • PlanSwift
  • On-Screen Takeoff
  • Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets

Preferred candidate profile

  • 2+ years U.S. estimating/takeoff experience (all trades)
  • Ability to read and interpret U.S. drawings (Arch, Struct, MEP)
  • Strong understanding of CSI divisions and trade separation
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet committed deadlines
  • Clear written communication

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted candidates must complete a sample takeoff test
  • Test will assess accuracy, scope understanding, trade separation, and Excel presentation
  • Only candidates who pass the test will be onboarded

Engagement & Payment Model

  • Contract to Hire
  • Paid on a project-wise or scope-wise rate card
  • Long-term work available based on consistency and performance
  • No fixed monthly salary; work will depend on active projects
