Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Production In-Charge
to oversee daily operations at our seaweed processing facilities. The role involves ensuring consistent product quality, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining smooth, safe, and efficient production workflows. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in process manufacturing, chemical handling, and production management, with strong capabilities in quality control, efficiency improvement, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to achieve defined targets and timelines.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and material resources efficiently.
• Monitor process parameters, identify deviations, and take real-time corrective actions.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to minimize breakdowns and ensure smooth operations.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure compliance with product standards.
• Maintain accurate production and QC documentation for traceability and audits.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental guidelines, and relevant regulatory standards (including FCO compliance).

Inventory & Resource Management

• Manage inventory of seaweed, raw materials, and chemicals.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment of inputs.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and safe handling of all production materials.
• Prepare daily/weekly inventory consumption and production reports.

Process Optimization & R&D Support

• Support trials, scale-ups, and pilot batches for new product development.
• Identify opportunities for yield improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other efficiency-enhancing practices.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, and motivate production operators and technicians.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, discipline, and accountability.
• Conduct performance reviews and ensure adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in
  Biochemistry, Natural Product Engineering, Agriculture, Agri-Chemical, Biotechnology
  , or related fields.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, including 5–6 years of independently handling natural product or process manufacturing.
• Experience working in SME or startup production setups.
• Proven ability to introduce structured process controls in evolving or early-stage manufacturing environments.

Work Experience Requirements

• Hands-on experience managing multiple contract manufacturing partners with strong focus on quality, timelines, and cost control.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Sales teams.
• Ability to engage directly with customers for technical understanding and to support product development pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic startup environments with agility, ownership, and problem-solving orientation.

Abilities & Skills

• Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving processes.
• Strong understanding of production workflow, process control, and operations.
• Good knowledge of chemistry, especially related to seaweed or chemical handling.
• Ability to identify and resolve production or quality issues quickly.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proactive approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
