Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Production In charge
to manage daily production activities at our seaweed processing facilities. This role involves ensuring consistent product quality, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining smooth, safe, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in process manufacturing, chemical handling, and production workflow management, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and team coordination.

Role and Responsibilities
:

  • Production
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to achieve set targets and timelines.
  • Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and material resources effectively.
  • Monitor process parameters, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions in real time.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure adherence to product standards.
  • Maintain detailed production and QC documentation for traceability and audits.
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC team to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and FCO or industry-specific regulations.
  • Inventory & Resource Management
  • Track and maintain inventory of seaweed, raw materials, and chemicals.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment of inputs.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and safe handling of all production materials.
  • Generate daily/weekly inventory usage and production reports.
  • Process Optimization & R&D Support
  • Support trials, scale-ups, and pilot batches for new product development.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance yield, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices within the production area.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and motivate production operators and technicians.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability across shifts.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry/ Natural Product Engineering or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of total experience, including 5–6 years of independent handling of natural product manufacturing.
  • Should have spent time on SME setups.
  • Proven ability to bring structured process control to startup or evolving production systems.

Work Experience:

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple contract manufacturing partners to ensure consistent quality, timelines, and cost efficiency.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — capable of working with R&D, supply chain, quality, finance, and sales teams to translate business plans into actionable operations.
  • Long-term capability to engage directly with customers, contributing to product innovation pipelines aligned with regulatory trends and emerging market requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment, with agility, ownership, and hands-on problem-solving orientation

Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a startup environment, build things from scratch, and be comfortable with ambiguities
  • Strong understanding of production processes and workflow management.
  • Good knowledge of chemistry, especially related to seaweed and chemical handling.
  • Ability to identify and resolve production or quality issues quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
