Deglutition Therapist

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Expertise:

• Assess and manage swallowing disorders in patients with neurological, post-surgical, or post-traumatic conditions.
• Conduct bedside and instrumental evaluations such as FEES or VFSS where applicable.
• Develop individualized deglutition rehabilitation plans focusing on safe swallowing and airway protection.

Therapeutic Interventions:

• Implement evidence-based swallowing exercises and compensatory strategies.
• Collaborate with dietitians for appropriate diet texture modifications.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe feeding practices and oral hygiene.

Departmental Contribution:

• Maintain structured documentation and reporting of therapy outcomes.
• Support interdisciplinary case discussions and rehabilitation planning.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.

Research & Innovation:

• Contribute to developing standardized swallowing therapy protocols.
• Participate in case presentations and clinical studies related to dysphagia.

Business Enhancement:

• Assist in developing specialized swallowing rehab programs and workshops.
• Support marketing initiatives highlighting dysphagia management services.
