1. POSITION VACANT: Senior Finance Officer French Proficiency, International Not-for-Profit, New Delhi

Our client is a respected, international, not-for-profit organisation entity focused on developing and delivering innovative treatments for diseases that primarily affect vulnerable populations in low-income regions. Their innovative projects have helped address critical gaps in healthcare by tackling life-threatening conditions that disproportionately impact the worlds poorest and most marginalized communities.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our client is looking for a Senior Finance Officer French Proficiency (SFO-FP) to support the global finance team in managing key financial processes. The SFO-FP will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, with emphasis on their proper recording in the ERP system and settlement in accordance with prescribed protocols. S/he shall additionally support in carrying out day-to-day finance activities, contribute to the conduct of annual statutory and donor audits, and assist with bank account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with financial standards and best practices.

Key Job Responsibilities:

A. Accounts Payable Management

(1) Verify and process invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and budget alignment;

(2) Register invoices in the ERP system, assigning appropriate project codes and descriptions;

(3) Ensure timely invoice approval in accordance with the organizations Signature Policy, with follow-up on pending approvals;

(4) Maintain and review the vendor database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal control standards;

(5) Participate in digitalization efforts, including testing and implementation of the Purchase Order system and supporting its integration with financial systems;

(6) Prepare payments in international currencies, and respond to inquiries from employees and suppliers regarding payments;

(7) Investigate and follow up with banks on returned payments.

B. Financial Closing & Reporting

(1) Assist in the mid-year and year-end financial closing, ensuring compliance with task lists and timelines;

(2) Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to payables and accruals;

(3) Act as a back-up for the Regional Office's financial activities, providing payment processing and accounting support, as necessary;

(4) Lead or support special projects under the supervision of the Head of Departments;

(5) Assist with month-end and year-end accounting for all Indian entities.

C. Additional Responsibilities

(1) Actively participate in the implementation of IT tools and solutions and help update the internal control manual;

(2) Provide training and guidance to colleagues in finance and accounting-related matters;

(3) Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as banks, suppliers, and auditors.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants must be graduates or postgraduates in finance, accounting, or related fields.

Experience:

(1) Minimum five to seven years of relevant experience, including three years of experience at the officer level, or equivalent;

(2) Experience in managing mid-sized projects, including overseeing budgets, with guidance from senior leadership;

(3) Proficiency in spoken and written French is essential.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Strong knowledge of ERP;

(2) Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);

(3) Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines;

(4) Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and external auditors;

(5) Exceptional communication skills and ability to thrive in multicultural settings and coordinate across different time zones;

(6) Strong analytical skills, with a keen ability to identify and address complex problems.

6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
