Job Title: Purchase Assistant

Experience: 2-3 yrs (Relevant Steel industry Experience)

Qualification: B.SC (Science), Diploma, BTech, MBA

Location: Sector -67, Gurugram

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to support our procurement team in sourcing and purchasing goods and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in supplier communication, tracking orders, maintaining purchase records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and maintain procurement records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to determine purchasing needs.
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues.
  • Compare purchase orders with invoices and packing slips to verify accuracy.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure cost-effective deals and favourable terms.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers and purchase agreements.
  • Assist in preparing reports on purchasing activities and expenditures.
  • Coordinate with finance and warehouse teams to ensure proper receipt and payment of goods.
  • Stay updated with market trends and supplier developments.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and procurement software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain procedures and best practices.
