Job Description:

Production Supervisor (Machine Shop) 

Experience: Min 5 Years in Heavy Machinery Manufacturing Industry (CNC, VMC, HMC,)

Salary budget: up to 4.50 LPA

Education: BE / DME

Profile Summary:

  • Optimizing plant performance and meet production/ dispatch targets with quality commitments. Possess Greenfield project handling experience in Automotive, Aerospace & Heavy Engineering component machining line planning, execution, and establishment.
  • Demonstrate in Production Planning, Production System Implementation, Process Improvement, Production schedules, Production development, Managing tool life, Quality control & Inspection, ISO/TS system, AS9100, FMEA, APQP, TPM, FAI & PPAP.
  • Practically exposed to complete CNC machining operations HMC/VMC/HBM 3 axis, 4 axis & 5 axis machine ,VTL m/c & Turning m/c, & CNC part programming FANUC, MAZAK ,HEIDENHAIN, SEIMENS control.
  • Expertise in New component machining try-outs and proving, Fixture setting, Component drawing study, Subassembly operation & fulfilling the production target through workload distribution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for achieving on-time productivity within a shift as per production plan 
  • Responsible for and ensuring process compliance. 
  • Responsible for safety norms and machine safety.
  • Responsible for controlling rejections and RCCA.
  • Responsible for improving the operator's skill set by providing the input for the training requirement by updating skill metrics.
  • Responsible for implementing new improvement projects. 
  • The overall shift in charge, responsible to meet the targets and assigning the work to the Cell leaders/ knowledge cell leaders. 
  • Job-related responsibilities to achieve the day-to-day goals of production.
  • Coordination with PPC planning and scheduling of production in consultation with the shop in charge.
  • Daily production feedback is given to the shop in charge.  
  • Planed and achieved the given targets during the shifts.
  • Direct and issue timely instructions to the cell leaders/ knowledge leaders and operators for achieving the production during the shifts.
  • Timely information on attendance to HR for processing the salary, updating the operator's skill sets.
  • Discipline action for non-compliance in consultation with the production head. 
  • OEE improvement & analysis of in-house rejection, COPQ & preparation of detailed action plan, and execution through the PDCA cycle.
  • Involved in Complete CNC Programming, fixture setting, try-outs, process mapping, preparation of control plan, FAI, FMEA, APQP for the new component as per the schedule, and making the best possible improvements.
  • Involved in Capacity planning, Plant facility budgeting, complete plant layout finalizations.
  • Working for implementing TPM (5S, Kaizen, Poka-yoke, Kanban) in a machine shop for higher productivity by reducing various losses.
  • Taken full responsibility for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training personnel within 90% of capacity.
  • Also involved in the Greenfield project of establishing a new state-of-the-art machine shop for the new business opportunities.
